EL CARMEN
Se la denomina “La Puerta de Oro de Manabí”, por su producción de plátano barraganete, único en
el país y exportado al mundo.
Conserva muchos ríos, donde se han instalado grandes balnearios, y grandes cascadas que
son verdaderos atractivos turísticos.
Son famosos los “paradores”, restaurantes
al borde de la vía, donde los viajeros
disfrutan de su variada comida.
Son típicos los bolones de queso, maní
y chicharrón; el seco de gallina y “guanta”,
animal que se cría en las montañas.
